Does Christmas decorating have you scratching your head? We've compiled some tips for ways to make your home more festive this holiday season.
- Use the one-for-one rule. For every Christmas piece you put out, take away one regular accessory. This way you will avoid too much clutter and it will bring more focus to your Christmas decor.
- We all know what Christmas smells like! Scented candles or plugins are a great way to bring the evergreen/cinnamon/nutmeg smell to your home.
- Put your lights on timers, or better yet, hook up your lights to your Alexa. You can use Alexa to create "routines", so turning on the lights can be as simple as saying, "Alexa, lights on!"
- Ornaments don't have to be limited to the tree. They can go in bowls, mugs, vases, baskets and more.
- Pine cones. They're inexpensive (or free), festive, and readily available. You can use a single one or pile a few in a basket. They can stay as-is, or you can glitter them up!
The most important thing to remember when decorating for Christmas is that you can't go wrong. Do what makes you happy but don't put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect!
